In last week’s Britblog Roundup I covered the story that Tom Harris MP, the Rail Minister, had been shown the exit door in Gordon Brown’s reshuffle.
Tom gave a superb interview to BBC Today in Parliament yesterday (10 October).
The interview went out at 11:50pm on a Friday, so it was easy to miss and I thought I’d post the item here. It is about 10 minutes long.
Click through on the title for the interview.
Tom Harris MP, this morning (just), on the Haltemprice and Howden by-election.
What a waste of two hundred grand*
…
* the cost of the Haltemprice and Howden by-election to the public purse
I have to acknowledge his chutzpah. A Government Minister complaining about £200k as a “waste of public money”. This is of Charge of the Light Brigade quality.
So I present Tom Harris with a Max Miller Award for being a Cheeky Chappie beyond the call of duty, but he doesn’t need the snazzy tie he already has one of those.
