This is a brand new blog, but I have already been splogged.
For anyone who hasn’t heard the term - a splog is defined as:
“an artificially created weblog site which the author uses to promote affiliated websites or to increase the search engine rankings of associated sites” (Wikipedia)
This article, published on March 10th this website, appeared on a splog website called Public Info Bulletin the same day. This link has been nofollowed, which will prevent it being taken into account by Google or other search engines. At that point this blog has only been live around 1 week.
This post briefly explains the measures I will be using when looking at blogs during this series of articles. I will be explaining the following terms: Technorati Rank and Links, Google Page Rank and Google Backlinks. I also comment on AlexaData.
The continuing mission of this Saturday post is to upgrade Iain Dale’s Diary remotely.
This week I am delighted to present a Tag Cloud, which will show what Iain has been blogging about for the last month.
Category Confusion is an age old problem for blogs, which has appeared here quicker than I expected.
The Statistics: 1 month, about 40 posts (including pensing posts), and 47 categories.
I feel a merciless Category Cull coming on …
The man is a dynamo.
Less than half an day after the Iain Dale search-bot became operational, a search facility appeared on the diary.
