Bonkers Conkers - Cracking The Nuts Open
Ramblings of a Danger Expert.
We’ve been taking a sideways look at the bonkers world of health and safety over the last couple of weeks. Anyone who didn’t at least crack a smile at the safety nut video in the post below has had a sense of humour bypass. Even I found it funny [...]
Bonkers Books about Health and Safety
I’m wrapping-up this Health and Safety series, and new things keep coming along.
Matt Buck - one of the house cartoonists on the Wardman Wire - tells me that he has just illustrated a book about Health and Safety.
It is called Playing It Safe: The Crazy World of Britain’s Health and Safety Regulations (affiliate link) by Alan Pearce.
Health and Safety Gone Mad: Crossing Your Drive Safely
Now, this is rather good.
It is close enough to reality to be funny, and very well made.

Astonishingly, it has - at the time of posting - only had 293 views in a month.

In 2002 in the UK 3034 people had an accident at home that required A&E treatment, involving a bin liner or waste bag. Blister packs claimed 882 victims and a further 431 unfortunate souls were apparently [...]
Warning - This Posting May Contain Nuts
Further adventures of a Danger Expert.
I don’t know about you but when I get given that little packet of peanuts on an aeroplane I expect it to contain nuts. In fact if I open it and find it doesn’t have any nuts in, I shall be a tiny bit disappointed. So just exactly why do [...]
Do not exceed the stated dose - Health and Safety series
I found this at the Overnight Editor site. It is all about Health and Safety and Guidance Notices on packets:
Do not exceed the stated dose
a.k.a. sixty-two things inanimate objects told me to do this month.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
Do not wash with brightly-coloured clothes.
Do not dispose of in fire
Do not iron. For hire.
Always use
the correct-rated fuse.
Made in a factory where nuts are used.
