Blogtopsites HTML has been Updated

I need to reset my account at the Blogflux Blogstopsites directory, but I am not having any success.

This is to prove my identity with respect to the email sent yesterday.

You need to update your HTML code for the service, as they are moving it to Blogflux servers. This applies to a number of UK Political Blogs.

Guest Writers for August, back on the air, and some admin

This is a quick post to announce that there will be a slight change of “style” in some of our content for the summer season.

First off, David Keen is taking a break for August from his Saturday column, and is handing over to Simon Sarmiento. Simon runs the main UK Anglican News Blog, Thinking Anglicans.

I’m not completely up do date with admin at the moment, having just come back on the air at home (good service from BT repairing the wire) after two days of blogging once a day from a local independent pub (The Bulls Head, Old Denby - Decent beer, decent food and free Wireless Internet - open from 12 noon).

And tomorrow the “Blog Platform” column will be entitled:

“How can Bloggers restore the good name of journalism?”

Controversial, me …?

A view of Current Affairs informed by a Religious Tradition

In response to a request on the forums (currently full of - well - tumbleweed) yesterday I put together a few thoughts on why I am looking for regular or occasional writers on current affairs from a perspective informed by a religious tradition (whether one you follow, or understand, or have been formed by, or perhaps even have left behind).

Basically, I think that these are viewpoints that need to have a place in the debate, but currently do not to a sufficient degree. And that means that more extreme views (on all sides) to get more than their fair share of attention.

If you might be interested in writing here, drop me a line at mattwardman at gmail dot com, preferably with a link to something you have published before - and I’ll take a look.

Daily Summary Newsletter: Editorial Alternative

The aim of the commentariat.org.uk site is to see how far the highly expensive paid for services for monitoring and analysing “comment” can be put together without charging any significant money.

So I’m starting an experiment with sending out a Daily Summary email of the Comment and Opinion from different publications.

Instant Interactivity is Back: Chatrooms on Political Blogs

One of the key benefits that came from the existence of 18 Doughty Street - whatever you thought of the overall balance (old bones that I am not interested in gnawing) - was the opportunity for political bloggers to talk and debate together, and to interact with the wider political blogosphere instantaneously.
