This is a prime space on the site, at the top of every page, displayed to all visitors. These adverts are a good way to give high profile to a project, or to your organisation. There are two rotations (*) available in this space. Each rotation is priced at £50 per month.

(*) Rotations are different adverts displayed in the same space. Two rotations means that each advert is displayed for half of the page impressions delivered.

300×250 Exhibit Space / Bottom of Post

The Exhibit Space is a 300×250 spot at the top of the sidebar. This space is called the exhibit as this where we offer to display artwork to promote British artists. There are six rotations. 2 are taken up by Art Exhibits, and the remainder are available for adverts. This space is shown to all visitors worldwide.

This is a prime space where visitors alight when they first visit the site. Adverts are £25 per month. This gives the exposure of a large advert for a relatively small outlay, and is a different style of publicity to more ad impressions on a small ad such as a 125×125 button.

Adverts displayed here are also shown at the bottom of single posts where visitors pause when they have finished reading an article and are considering what action to take next.

125×125 Sidebar Buttons

These buttons have become a preferred form of advertising recently. They are a good way of getting a wide exposure at low cost. There are only eight buttons, which are displayed to all visitors to the site. These buttons cost £20 per month.

Featured Site Sidebar Text Links

These are links which appear in the sidebar under the Featured Sites heading on all pages of our site, displayed to all visitors. This is a good cost-effective way to publicise your website to a diverse audience. These links cost £10 per month per link and are displayed to all visitors. There are up to a total of 10 links.

Daily Papers

Uniquely among political blogs, most days we publish images of the front pages of the days papers for the next day as early as we can, often around midnight by courtesy of Sky News. A prominent 120×600 sponsorship ad appears next to this presentation.

The Daily Papers appear in 3 places:

1. On our magazine front page, reached through a direct option in our main menu.
2. In a separate daily article.
3. On our RSS feed.

The cost for a Daily Papers sponsorship is £100 per month. This spot is not shared. Animation or flash are not allowed.

Sponsored Column

Since the site started, we have focused on niche content and regular columns by gifted writers. Several of these are available for sponsorship, comprising a logo included within each article and a statement of sponsorship in the byline.

These sponsorships run for a year or at least thirty articles, whichever is the longer. Currently we are offering sponsorships on the Politics Decoded and Blog Platform columns as a trial. Sponsorships vary between several hundred and £1000, depending on the popularity and subject of the column. Please enquire for more details.

We (i.e., Matt and the column author) need to approve the sponsor, and there is no input into editorial decisions for the sponsor.

Sponsored Series

We have pioneered a new type of article series we call an Online Symposium. These are series of articles highlighting different aspects of a common topic, for example (English Devolution)link.

These symposia aim to provide a form of writing which is more analytical than blogs and the online media, but produced more quickly than research reports. Each series of article is also published as a report. The sponsorship of these series is permanent, and includes co-branding of the article series, the report and PDF file for download. We have a strong position in search engines, so these series attract targeted audiences of thousands of visitors every month. We are still working on pricing for Sponsored Series.

Special Packages

At the the Wardman Wire we manage our adverts using Open X (a professional level ad management system), and OIO Publisher (an easy to use Wordpress plugin for managing private advert sales), so we are able to put together highly customised advertising packages easily, including targeting adverts to individual countries. We can include special content as described above. We have access to trained and experienced staff available to record and produce podcasts and video reports if required.

Notes

1. The booking process for adverts is automated, with payment made using Paypal. Adverts are for a 30 day period, and renew automatically.
2. We allow reasonable animation, but not Flash. Reasonable means that I’ll not accept for example flashing green fluorescent pretend click me windows.
3. All advertising is subject to editorial approval.
4. All links from adverts carry the “nofollow” attribute.
5. Sponsorship is disclosed, and does not bring any editorial control.
