“Billy the Brit” is a puppet character invented by the BNP to eulogise “white heroes”, and encourage young people to get involved in the BNP Youth Wing.
Bloggers Chris Applegate, Mike Power and Tim Ireland discovered that Billy the Brit is actually an off the shelf puppet called “Soccer Boy“. A spoof video came out yesterday morning with a rechristened version of “Billy the Brit”.
Here’s the original version, which lays a claim to heroes for White Britain including Boadicea, Edward I, Sir Isaac Newton, Lord Nelson, and Enoch Powell. Edward I, who was also known as “Longshanks” and “The Hammer of the Scots” is an interesting choice, since the BNP are running candidates for the European Election in Scotland.

This is another impromptu guerilla campaigning project that started with a comment on Twitter, and which was turned into a brilliant spoof video within a few days – with perfect timing for the Elections on June 4. Tim Ireland has a post with a full account.

Boadicea strikes me as an odd choice – her descendants benefited far more from the Roman occupation than from the later Anglo-Saxon one.
Edward I also crushed the Welsh as well – so much for the “British” National Party.
The video really shows the poverty of intellect found in the BNP. The idea that white people should bask in the achievements of this lot simply because we share a skin colour is absurd. Both Hitler and I have facial hair – doesn’t mean we share equal guilt for WW2.
