Mark Pack to leave LibDems after June Elections

20090412-mark-packMark Pack, the Head of Innovations for the Liberal Democrats, will be leaving the Party after the June 2009 European and Local Elections.

Mark has been doing at Lib Dem Central since 2000.

His new job is to an Associate Director of Mandate, a Public Affairs consultancy, who do this kind of thing:

At Mandate, our reputation specialists will help you achieve your commercial objectives by transforming your strategy into effective communication.

The communications world is noisier and more complex than ever before. Media are more fragmented, politicians more sceptical, campaigners more vocal and the news cycle never stops. You need to stay several steps ahead of your competitors. To win, you must engage, persuade and convince, not just talk.

Mandate brings you the most experienced communicators, with the right skills and knowledge to reach the audiences that matter to you.

Mark also has a new personal website here, which was built on Wordpress by Puffbox. The site aggregates Mark’s articles from here, and also from Lib Dem Voice and other places.

This has interesting implications for online campaigning, and an interesting – but probably not very highly paid – for someone. At least one senior Spin Doctor is free from this weekend, and there may be more coming onto the market soon.

Mark has reported his move on on his own site, and it has also been covered on LDV.
