New Blog Host Doreo Down this morning
My apologies for being off the air this morning. That is a good reason why you should subscribe to the RSS feed.
The new webhost for the Wardman Wire – having had precisely one minute of downtime in 2008 on the server (Whitestar) where this blog now lives – goes down for 3 hours 36 minutes on about day 4:
We have to perform an emergency reboot of one of our core switches early tomorrow morning. The switch will be rebooted at aproximately 03:00 (Central US time) on 09-Jan-2009. We expect that there will be only a few minutes outage (at most) as the switch reboots.
Update 06:36 (Central US time)
All servers are back on-line and functioning properly.
However, the support is excellent, and I trust Daniel Scocco who made the recommendation of Doreo. This morning’s downtime aside, I’m being told that working in the blog’s backoffice is much quicker, as is the site itself.
And I haven’t got the caching (which stores a copy of each page rather than recreating it each time it is requested) turned on properly yet, which should help more.
