Wikio October 2008 Rankings & changes for Top UK Blogs: Exclusive
Following on from my earlier article about UK Political Blogs, this is the Top 10 List for all UK Blogs. I’ll keep this short, as I explained more in my previous article.
The key points:
Massive jumps into the Top 20 for:
- Blah Blah Technology.
- Imran Ali’s Blog.
- xLab.
- Plugged Out
80% of the blogs (16 from 20) are about either Politics or Technology.

Hi Matt!
I’ve noticed a steady trickle of traffic from Wikio for a few months now, and I thought it was just because I’d said nice things about them back in May last year.
Most of the traffic I get from Wikio is of the French variety, and my ranking had been in the top 20 for quite some time, right up until the summer holidays this year.
I suspect a lot of the traffic I get is from students doing research.

Hi all, contrary to what we communicated to Matt Wardman earlier, the rankings have not actually been totally finalised yet. The final versions will most likely contain a few differences relative to positions seen here. As mentioned by Matt in his post http://www.mattwardman.com/blog/2008/10/05/wikio-rankings-changes-for-top-political-blogs-exclusive/ several quite substantial changes have been made to our algorithm, and it will still take a few days to finalise October’s rankings.
Please excuse us for this erroneous early release, and please also be aware that Matt did not know that the rankings had not been finalised.
We sent him them erroneously, saying that they were ready for publication, and Matt thus published them in good faith.The error thus lies totally with Wikio.
Once again do excuse us and the finalised rankings for October will be out as soon as possible.

Once these rankings get out, and assuming you are still 1, you should get a bit more traffic….
I’m also wondering where Gaping Void went - perhaps he has most links from blogrolls.
