Andrew Keen: “The Internet is Worse than the Nazis”

A clip from Comedy Central in 2007. Fun.

Andrew had the idea even then that paying people to write makes it more “objective”.

  1. I bought a copy of this book; it’s actually not bad and makes a halfway decent point. However, he overeggs it and makes the mistake of thinking that there is only model for making money on the internet. Amazon does well out of the long tail and the launch of 7digital with all four big music houses on board and DRM free mp3s suggest that society as we know it is not about to fall.

I think his point about blogging is actually pretty weak. The issue is news coverage, which has been going downhill for some time. The answer, IMHO, is education about what the media does and doesn’t do and the reasons for it.

    xD.
