But organisations like the St Stephen the Great Charity seem to have adopted some of the worst features of Christian missionaries in the past, and sought to emulate all their mistakes and display none of their virtues.”

Where next?

silencer-of-the-blogs

I’ll be commenting on what we can do with this campaign in the longer term - and what do ex-SPCK people want done with it? There’s some debate going on among a number of interested people, since there are more complex issues around SPCK in addition to the attempt to silence people (which incidentally has caused the non-appearance of some articles in the Christian press) wanting to comment:

  • Questions about governance
  • Mark Brewer’s attempt to make a UK entity bankrupt in North America.
  • Multiple (up to 30) Industrial Tribunals by ex-staff
  • and enough others to addle anybody’s brain

These questions are abstruse and require committed long term work - probably focused on one or two resource sites rather than a “Flash mob” of hundreds. There’s a long grind coming.

A Question

stand-up-spck-upI’ve been playing with some new buttons, for if this does morph into a longer term campaign to make sure that the actions of Mark and Philip Brewer and their Saint Stephen the Great organisation does in fact receive proper scrutiny. What do you think?

If that happens it is likely that this site will retain a reporting brief from time to time - perhaps a weekly update - but will not be quite such a spearhead as it has been over the last two weeks. That role would probably be taken by one of the directly SPCK-related websites.

(Yes, you can use these buttons - but as usual make sure they link somewhere useful.
