Dave Walker Cease and Desist Notice – Campaign Resources

This post is a list of resources that you can use, places where you can make your points, and some suggestions for further things to do. Everything on this page is under a Creative Commons License, and can be used on your own sites and to make further work.

Briefly, Dave Walker, the official Lambeth Conference Cartoonist in Residence, has taken 75 posts down on his blog after being threatened with Libel Action by the new owner of SPCK – the oldest chain of Anglican Bookshops. He has been reporting the story of alleged mismanagement for two years. Already there are a lot Industrial Tribunals from ex-employees, among other things.

For details of the case, please see my other articles.

Blog Buttons

Use these as you wish – but make sure that the link from the button goes back to a meaningful article. It is good to link back to various places, not just here, so that a wide range of views are exposed to the wider public. Have a look at the notes on my list of posters that grabs your attention, and find one that will be relevant to your particular audience.

Stick with the existing filenames, or adjust them to contain keywords relating to other aspects of the case (e.g., SPCK, SSG, st-stephen-the-great), as filenames really help catch traffic from image search engines.

Shorthand Reference

If you need to refer to the controversy in shorthand, for example in conversation, in comments on a media website, over the phone, on the radio, in print or in a text message, you can use this link:

http://tinyurl.com/davewalker,

which goes to my list of people who have posted. People will not forget it as easily as all the others.

Don’t use it in web articles, however, where you have time to use a full web address, as it stops search engines giving credit for the link to the target article. There are more resources below the fold.

Cartoons

Lampoon by all means, but make it a persuasive lampoon that adds information as well as ridicule.
