I posted earlier about Oink the Water Buffalo in Darley Abbey.
I’m may not be forgiven for highlighting this, but he has a website now as well. Photo credit Snap Derby.
I guarantee that I will not be doing a podcast interview.
I will – however – cover any MPs who do a publicity photo wearing a viking hat with Oink though.
Given that it is Derbyshire, which is next to Cheshire, Ann and Nicholas Winterton would seem appropriate as MPs to stand next to Oink; they sold a property they own to a trust of which they are two of three trustees, and of which their children are the beneficiaries – in order to be able to claim £21,600 rent a year back from us, the taxpayers. This will eventually transfer – according to the Evening Standard – something over £400,000 from the taxpayers to the Winterton family in rent and death duty saved. I’m not absolutely sure about the Standard’s exact numbers, but they are in the right range. And I am still furious 6 months after hearing about it.
As Oink would doubtless put it – oink oink oink oink oink.
There are lots of other words that I can think of that would fit in here, most of them starting with “F”.

What a beautiful creature. The report on GMTV today made me very angry and upset. I would like to catch these yobbos and thrown bricks, stones and other items at them, including placing washing up liquid and mustard in their beer then make them drink it. Who actually owns Oink> Can they not move him to a safer place? I would take him if I had room, even though I have a 100ft garden, it would not be practical! Come on people, we need to get together to make Oink safe. Bea
I agree with Billybea, he needs to be moved. Darley Abbey has become too much of a rough area with increasing levels of crime – my grandma lives there and she is terrified that she will be next.
Thanks for the visits guys.
Perhaps Darley Abbey needs a sheriff?
I love oink!!!! How could any one hurt this lovelly animal!!!
I found out about this story on yahoo, and it made me feel sick for two reasons one because he was drewling and two because HOW CAN ANY ONE HURT THIS LOVELLY ANIMAL.
