MPs Vote For Below Inflation Pay Rise - Blogosphere In Shock

It’s amazing. MPs have voted against awarding themselves an above-inflation pay rise.

And yet I haven’t seen a single blog post on this piece of news by any non-journalist come through my RSS reader.

The blogosphere must be in shock.

  1. Quite possibly they are all in shock.

From the reporting I’ve heard it was heavily “whipped” (Ministerial Private Secretaries etc), and nearly everyone who was free to vote voted in favour of the increase.

There also looks to be a number of other measures that were not taken - allowances have not been overhauled apart from transparency (which the Data Protection Registrar had enforced anyway). The “John Lewis” list is still in place etc.

Still some way to go, methinks.

    Matt

  2. PS I didn’t know that you could put italics in headlines. Have to check up if it crashes any RSS readers…
