How to Jump the Great Firewall of China II

Here is some more advice on how to help the Chinese people get around, under, over or through the Great Firewall aimed at controlling what they can read on the Internet.

After my article yesterday, “Watching them, Watching us” kindly commented:

You can get an idea of whether or not your blog is currently being censored or blocked by the Chinese government or by other evil regimes via the OpenNet Initiative website

Of course sometimes the censorship is a bit more subtle, for instance the Chinese language versions of the BBC News website are censored in China, but not, currently, the English language version.

Also worth reading is the recently updated Handbook for Bloggers and Cyber-Dissidents – March 2008 version – (2.2 Mb – 80 pages .pdf) by Reporters Without Borders.
