The Christmas Post: End of Year Guest Posting Festival

20071128-new-year-2008I’m planning an end-of-year Guest Festival on the Wardman Wire. My aim is to provide a festival of diverse opinions, experiences and viewpoints from as wide a range of places and perspectives as possible.

There will be a range of people posting two posts - one in December and one in January. I’ve started asking people, but I’m also interested in contributors I don’t know yet.

If you are an expat based in South Carolina, an expat from outside the UK based in Much Binding in the Marsh, currently living in Saudi Arabia, an atheist in Nagaland in shock at find an 75% Baptist State in India, a blogger based in Norfolk or Lapland, or a birdwatcher in the Falklands - I’d like to hear from you if you are interested in taking part.

I’ll be running a banner throughout December and January which will link to those participating in turn. I’ll also do a guest post in return if you like.

If you would be interested, please drop me a line at mattwardman AT gmail DOT com.

These will be the themes:

How is Christmas / New Year celebrated where you are?

One guest post in the run up to Christmas, around the theme of what you will be doing, or how your country / community / family celebrates the end of the year.

What do you expect in 2008?

One guest post in the run after Christmas, around the theme of “What I expect to happen in 2008″. This part of the idea is based on the BBC Radio programme “the correspondents look ahead”. It is a radio link up of key BBC journalists from around the world that occurs on December 28th or thereabouts that I have been listening to for perhaps 20 years.

I’d be interested in both politics and personal thoughts.

The Correspondents Look Ahead 2007 Version

To whet your apetite, here is the first 10 minutes of the 2007 edition of “The Correspondents Look Ahead”, which was broadcast on New Year’s Day 2007. BBC copyright acknowledged.

The whole programme is an hour, and I will post it at the weekend.
