How Good are MPs at Blogging? Rate them and Comment
I have compiled a list of all the blogging Members of Parliament known to me. This article includes links to all their blogs, and a poll to choose the best one for each party. You are also welcome to add any qualitative comments below – especially about innovative and interesting points on individual blogs – in the comments box.
The links to the blogs open in the same window – so right-click or CTRL-Click for a new tab in your browser.

My initial thoughts after looking at these various blogs:
1 – Some of the Labour Deputy leaders have some confusion between their different websites and domain names. John McDonnell MP (Lab) has 3 domans. Jon Cruddas MP (Lab) has a neater setup.
2- WebCameron starts video automatically: bad idea imho.
3 – Nadine Dorries has closed her blog for the summer – a good idea? Some business and political bloggers only blog in the week. Why not do the same for the Recess?
4 – David Davies MP’s blog says he both an AM and an MP. An example of the need to be careful what you put in your web address.
5 – I am surprised at the number of MPs who do not identify their Constituency at the top of their blog home page.
What do you think?

Although I voted for Nadine, I like David Jones site a lot. I think that he has really got into the swing of things. Boris’ site is good but the fact that he has staffers running it is off-putting. Am I being fair?
No Adam Price MP?

Adam Price added to list of blogging MPs.
Poll for PC added to this post.
Thanks for the information.

Hmmm.
I haven’t really read Boris too much. Having staffer publish it is not necessarily a problem for me as long as there is no deception.
I have a lot of time for John Redwood’s approach of publishing provocative nuggets.
I also quite like the Adam Price blog flagged up above – he does a post once a week or so.
The thing I would object to most would be a blog consisting of weekly press releases only.

The one thing tha
Sorry, but some of these are not really current… Emily Thornberry has not posted since 16th February! Surely no posts for the last 6 weeks means the blog should not be included.
Thanks for the visit, Jon.
I’ll take your comments in reverse order:
>Surely no posts for the last 6 weeks means the blog should not be included.
Imho 6 weeks is too short – at this time of year a some MP bloggers have a break longer than that as they only really blog when Parliament is in sessions. I’d have some sympathy with 10 or 12 weeks, perhaps. However, in this case…
>Emily Thornberry has not posted since 16th February!
That is correct, but the blog is still linked from her main website.
I’ve taken the view for this post that I would rather include everything and leave MPs with dead blogs not to be voted for, or alternatively for voters to reveal their motives voting for dead blogs. Hence the links to each blog.
I’ve added a note flagging up that Emily Thornberry’s blog is an expedition blog.
