Gordon Brown demonstrates the Gentle Touch

Play

q-photo-blair-pmqWe have a change from the Blair era of Prime Minister’s Questions.

Tony Blair used to have John Prescott on one side slouched on the bench snoring away (see below), and Gordon Brown looking like Edward Heath in a huff on the other side.

New Age Gordon has brought in a formation of lovelies on either side to emphasise that our new “gentle giant” Prime Minister is properly manly (in a feminist-acceptable sense), but also approachable.

Like a Mountain Gorilla of David Attenborough fame, in fact.

Go to it, Mr Gordon – let’s hear it for women being highly visible at the heart of government!

It looks to me as if they have been “arranged” for colour co-ordination, symmetry, even hairstyles – as my mother does with flowers.

A small clip of Mr Gordon “Gordon-ing”, in his best style.
