Identity Crisis? Who Am I? Life as a non-aligned blog

There was a wonderful affirmation of the independence of this blog this weekend.

In one day I have been called both “Tory blogger” and “my lefty friend”.

Excellent! I love it.

From Ministry of Truth:

there are actually some very good Tory bloggers out there, of whom I can happily recommend Mr Eugenides, Bel and Matt Wardman as being well worth a read if, like me, you prefer your political opponents to be honest, authentic and intelligent.

From John over at the indefatigable TV License Resistance, commenting on an article where I dare to defend the BBC in response to a broadside on Up Front on 18 Doughty Street (direct media link) where Donal Blaney was having a go at the BBC. You need to look about 5 minutes into the programme.

John said:

I’d also like to point out its only your opinion that the BBC is better value than Sky and Sky don’t force you to pay a subscription fee just for watching live transmissions my leftie friend.

(apparently liking the BBC makes me a political southpaw).

Wonderful.

For the record, I call it “centre right non-party aligned“.

Perhaps I need an identity card and some thought control.

  1. It must be difficult to be non-aligned.

  2. There’s far less need to be responsibble .

  3. Or else you can be “everywhere aligned’.

  4. Wouldn’t that be declaring myself a Lib Dem :*?

  5. Perhaps I need [...] some thought control.

I thought you said you *weren’t* getting Sky. Don’t waver now, man.

  6. Cheer, Transit

I have BBC and free to air satellite only !!
