I can’t help but think that Facebook is like a big drunken game of strip poker that seems like fun at the time, but which immediately leads to regrets about revealing too much too quickly to people you hardly know.

I’ll probably turn out to be wrong, though, and my absence from Facebook will cause my career to implode and all my friends to desert me, leaving me to stare at the four walls of my blog while they all party on down with Prince William and Alan Rusbridger in Facebook’s virtual champagne fountain.

    But I’d still rather not be on it. I prefer to retain a shred of privacy while I still can.
