Demonstrating the Google UK Black hole

I’ve a couple of times recently about how difficult it is to find UK Political Blogs in Google’s UK searches:

1. Google reduces ranking of major UK political blogs
2. UK Political Blogosphere vanishes down Google UK Black Hole
3. How to Escape from the Google UK Black Hole

Here’s an illustration of the problem.

I have been getting a lot of visitors today searching on “Matt Wardman” in Google. Try it:

“matt wardman” on google.co.uk or google.com : 23,000 results. This site is first.

“matt wardman” on UK pages of google.co.uk : 496 results. This site does not even feature in the displayed results (which are all comments and references elsewhere).

Oh sh*t.

And you?

Just for the record, just of 50% of ALL UK searches are done using the second method above.
