How to Get Traffic: Call a Spanish an Amish, and display a Victoria Beckham Fetish

This is a story about Shoes and a Shoe Blogger, with a walk-on part for Victoria Beckham in a Fetish Outfit.

20070611-fashioncrocThe summary of this hint:

Take advantage of random events if you can.

Let me explain.

The Manolo the Shoe Blogger

Firstly, if you are not familiar with Fashion Blogs, pay a quick visit to “Manolo the Shoe Blogger“, and read about the backstory of the blog here.

Last week I posted this post where I suggested that the character of Manolo was an Amish. This was a mistake.

Manolo gave me a very short link:

Manolo says, wha?

The idiosyncratic language, writing in the third person, and taking on the personality of an Amish man are part of “the Manolo being different”.

Amish?

(It reminds me of a post of the political blog Iain Dale’s Diary “diddums” post in response to a whinge from the Labour Humanist blog that a government minister’s blog had the cheek to link to something that was right wing (freedom of speech, anyone?).)

For me there followed several hundred visitors wondering what Manolo was talking about. If they had been political or technical visitors I could have used the opportunity - but unfortunately shoe fashion enthusiasts are a little too far outside my niche. So all I could do was enjoy the weirdness of it.

If it turns out that he is not Spanish, I may get another link and another several hundred visitors.

Blog-life is like that.

Enjoy it.

20070611-vbeckgam-shoeThe Year of the Fetish Shoe

Incidentally, Manolo has just declared 2007 the “Year of the Fetish Shoe”:

Manolo says, here from the Daily Mail is that saucy trollop the Victoria “Posh” Beckham wearing the ridiculous and dangerous looking spiky shoes.

And thus, with this picture, the Manolo now officially declares 2007,

The Year of the Fetish Shoe.

Forget for now the beautiful, elegant, and stylish shoes, and wear only those shoes which emphatically say to the public “the wearer of these shoes may be hired to satisfy your more outré desires.”

Five and the half inch stiletto heels? The height of fashion!

Weird dominatrix boots? Wear them to the red carpet!

Bizarre and clunky pony-play platforms ? Hottest shoe of the Fall!

It is all too much and too ridiculous, but do not worry, dear friends of the Manolo, this fashion moment shall pass.
