Blair upon a G-String – Party Politics through the Lingerie Lens

This thought came while I was giving the new Labour Home website a once-over. Suddenly I recognised the dominant shades of red and black from a walk down my local High Street. The logo colours are the same as an Ann Summers display.
So I started researching whether political colours affect seduction tastes. I can only speak from a straight, male perspective on this subject. I need other bloggers to weigh in if we are to get a balanced analysis here.
(All the links on the pictures lead to screenshots on this site; the links in the text go back to the originals sites.)
The People’s Kinks are Deepest Pink
If we follow Jon Cruddas, and attempt to reintroduce a class analysis to our politics (and ignore the questionable calculations), surely Ann Summers will be the place where the People will buy their lingerie. Visit the Ann Summers lingerie collection website (warning: lingerie link), and indeed – red and black are the dominant colours.
They have even catered for the new Labour Party “move to mauve with Gordon” redesign – lilac and purple are further down the page, ready to be promoted when they become popular among members of the Peoples Party.
The Tory Crew Seduce in Blue
I can extend the analysis one stage further. The colours of the Conservative Party – as demonstrated by Conservative home – are various shades of blue.
Anyone who has spent more than about 60 minutes with Tory Boys knows that navy blue is probably the favoured lingerie colour.
The theory needs checking with a Conservative stronghold. When I look up Sweet Dreams of Buckingham (Conservative Majority, 18,000+) the first page (swimwear collection – lingerie link again), reveals a whole range of shades of dark (and, admittedly, light) blue.
Scroll down the page, and – as befits a party seeking to broaden its appeal under David Cameron – we have all sorts of colours appearing.
Lib Dems with a crush, strip down to blush (*)
The Liberal Democrats are a bit more interesting. Orange lingerie is not very thick on the ground, but in compensation they have the largest lingerie show in the country hosted in one of their constituencies – Harrogate & Knaresborough .
As to actual orange lingerie is – I note that certain Lib Dems have been known to sport orange bikinis, but I am far too delicate to publish photos of individuals here.
(*) If you didn’t like the last couplet because blush is pinky orange, then consider that the alternative was: “When Lib Dems are immoral, they dress in coral”. Exactly.
Wrapping Up
As my contribution to the Parties, I have developed a set of branded G-Strings. If I get many enquiries, these can be made available.

If I get any orders I will be extremely surprised.
