Blair Resignation Day: A good day to bury bad news

This is going to be a busy buried news day. OK, from the top.

Buried News I:

Via Iain Dale: Tony Resigns - Interest Rates Go Up!

Interest rates have gone up to 5.5%. The Brown era starts off with a bang!

Am I being too cynical thinking that Tony deliberately arranged his speech for today?

Buried News 2:

Via LibDem Voice: GOVERNMENT HAS BROKEN LAW TO BURY BAD NEWS ON ID CARDS - CLEGG

The Government was today accused of breaking the law in an attempt to bury bad news after waiting until the day of Tony Blair’s resignation to publish a report on ID cards that reveals the cost of the project has gone up by £640m since October

This has now run past the exerpt. Click to continue.

[Update 1]

Buried News 3:

I have a third nomination. The launch of LabourHome version 2.0 (which is actually much better than the old version) was done today with the aim of banishing Mr Blair’s embarrassing resignation from the airwaves Anyway, Labour supporters should visit Labour Home to be cheered up by the new design.

Any more for any more? Let me know here.
