Election 2007: Coverage on the Wardman Wire
The Wardman Wire is providing the following coverage and services of the UK Election 2007, from mid-evening on May 3rd, through to around 6am on May 4th.
The Wardman Wire will be providing summaries of the results from my area (The Midlands), but also a special election programme. We will be going into stripped down Election Mode at around 7pm, with a chatroom and (hopefully) an integrated News Feed in the sidebar.
Chatroom Open
The chatroom is here (or follow the UK Election 2007 option on the “pages” menu on the sidebar). I believe this is the only site providing this service. I will be around from about 7pm.
Note: messages in the chatroom are lost eventually. If you wish to get in touch please use the contact form, which will send me an email.
RSS Feeds
I am planning to provide a combined feed of election news in place of my usual sidebar alongside the chatroom, so that all you addicts can keep up to date.
If you are using an RSS Reader, these are the feed addresses you need to pick up articles tagged with Technorati as I suggested yesterday . The hyperlink on each feed is to the equivalent web page on Technorati.
- Overall News (feed will include the others): http://feeds.technorati.com/feed/posts/tag/uk+election+2007
- England News: http://feeds.technorati.com/feed/posts/tag/uk+election+2007+england
- Northern Ireland News: http://feeds.technorati.com/feed/posts/tag/uk+election+2007+n+ireland
- Scotland News: http://feeds.technorati.com/feed/posts/tag/uk+election+2007+scotland
- Wales News: http://feeds.technorati.com/feed/posts/tag/uk+election+2007+wales
Download them all as an OPML list here (if you did not understand that do not worry).
(Do not forget to ping Technorati if your system is not configured to do so). There will be a delay before you see your articles.
If you are writing articles, please do not spam the tags unnecessarily.
Articles
Articles every hour on the hour to amuse and challenge bloggers between all the tedious political stuff. These are also a programme for the chatroom. Sharpen your blog and blogging skills at the same time. A full schedule will be published at 6 8pm.
Homework
“Homework†that you can do to improve/raise the profile of your political blog while following the election.
Competition
A competition with a real prize (not a peerage though). The competition will be announced at 10pm.
