Bad Blogging Ideas: From Tony Benn - a statement in 2007 that your website will be updated in 2005.

Oh dear. It’s mischevious to poke fun at superannuated MPs, but I just can’t stop myself…

Here’s Tony Benn talking about the Internet (interviewed by Pressureworks Website):

Benn: You have to use the technologies available. In the old days you shouted at a public meeting and a few people heard you. Nowadays if you can get on a microphone, on camera, on a website, you can speak to the world. I think the Internet and satellite television are extraordinary!

And again, Tony Benn interviewed by Designer Magazine:

I think the internet and websites do make a difference.

And here is Tony Benn on the front page of his website declaring what will be happening in 2005:

Welcome to the official website of former Labour MP and Cabinet Minister Tony Benn.

This website is currently unavailable as it is being completely redesigned to add new content during 2005.
Thanks for your patience.

Hmmmm.

Well, Tony. One of things a website does is make you look ridiculous to the public if you say you will update it then do not do so.

Competition

I feel a competition coming on. I will publish a review of your blog on mattwardman.com for the oldest “this website will be updated by xxxx” statement discovered on a political website.

Drop entries into the comments between now and next week.

In addition to the erudite but sympathetic Matt Wardman feedback that the winner will receive … my Google Page Rank of 4 arrived this morning so it is a decent link.
