Where is this Blog Going?
This is the 50th article to be published on mattwardman.com since the blog started a month ago, so I thought it was time to take stock and decide what I aim to do.
There seem to be a few areas which I enjoy writing about and which are receiving a good response.
- Blogging about Politics, like this.
- Blogging about blogging about politics, like this.
- Other bits and pieces, such as heritage, humour and sport, like this, this and this.
I also have a few bee in my bonnet issues, just like everyone else.
The present pattern is one of posting around three times a day, and a little less at weekends.
For the next couple of months I’ll be aiming to maintain a few different threads in the blog.
Better Political Blogging in 100 days
Keep a major theme on analysing improving the state of political blogging - this will be a series of (ideally) daily articles looking at all aspects of blogging, especially aimed to make some of the more esoteric and technical aspects of blogging comprehensible. I hope this will be a major contribution to the UK Political Blogging theme.
This series will officially start after Easter, but I will be publishing an outline of areas I intend to cover on Good Friday.
Technical Tips
I’ll keep my eye out for hints and tips like this and this. I’ll do some in-depth technical articles, but these will normally be at weekends.
Humour
I’ll be keeping my eye out for cartoons and lookalikes, aiming to do one of each weekly.
Odds and Sods
And there will also be a mix of other themes, and whatever takes my fancy.
Blogging about Statistics: No
One thing I will not be doing is to publish statistics and traffic figures every two minutes. I will report back at the end of April.
