Heather Mills - the New David Icke?

I have a problem with Heather Mills-Mccartney (the name will not change until the divorce is final).

While I will acknowledge her good work with Adopt a Minefield for minefield clearance, I am dismayed by her more recent causes and performance.

To me - going on the coverage and analysis I have seen of her words and actions - she gives every appearance of being:

A gold digger. 20070316-Mills-Mccartney

It looks to me as if there is at least a strong possibility that financial motives were involved in her chasing of Paul McCartney.

A self publicist.

She claims she is not a publciity seeker. Bollocks. This picture (Credit and article: Sunderland Echo) is Heather posing with a pig in a publicity campaign.

It is perfectly possible for her to withdraw from Public Life. She has not done it.

A hypocrite.

This week we have seen, on the one hand:

Heather MM warned for wasting police time by making excessive 999 calls without cause (via Reuters):

Chief Superintendent Kevin Moore, of Brighton and Hove Police on the southern English coast where Mills spends much of her time, said there was a risk that officers may take her calls less seriously if she contacted them too often.

“We are duty-bound to respond, but clearly people who make lots of calls to the police run the risk of being treated as the little boy who cried wolf,” he added.

“Officers who have attended previously to find there have been no grounds might not take any claims seriously, and that’s the danger we face.”

On the other hand, we have Heather MM proclaiming her right to stand above the law in pursuit of her “higher purpose” in an animal rights campaign. She gave an interview to the BBC, where she claimed that trespass was justified.

It seems to me that - like all animal rights protesters who harass citizens and treat the law with contempt - she should be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.

The problem with illegal activity - even in a good cause, which is not the case here - is that it gives a cover for the more extreme and thuggish variety of animal “rights” protesters.

20070316-Iron-ChickenI’d suggest that the appropriate category for Heather MM is somewhere between “eccentric” and “weird”.

I can’t help wondering if she is going to end up going completely off the rails. Perhaps she will appear on Parkinson in a turquoise tracksuit proclaiming a new revelation from cosmic free range chickens (picture from The Clanger Site.

A person not deserving of much attention.

  1. [...] Any wholesale case against the BBC has fewer legs and makes little more sense than Heather Mills-Macartney. [...]
